Day 14 (18 December 2015)

Today we took the ferry back to Shakawe and crossed into Namibia through Mohembo border. It was quiet and the border crossing took only 30minutes.
Tonight we sleep in Divundu at Rainbow River Lodge and tomorrow we make our drive through the Caprivi Strip back to Botswana again.
At Rainbow Lodge we enjoyed the swimming pool and did the most amazing sunset cruise on the Okavango River. The cruise lasted 2 hours and we passed hippos and crocodiles and watched the life along the river. Fishermen, people having a bath in the river, etc. The sunset over the river was really something special which we will remember for a very long time.

Day 13 (17 December 2015) Fallen Boabab

Bush wake up call at 5h30am and 6am we were sitting in the vehicle ready for our game drive. We drove for about 4 hours through the bush and saw LOTS of animals. We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, lots of birds and we saw a group of 11 lions lying in the shade. What an amazing drive this was! In between we had tea and cookies in the bush!

After our game drive we went back to camp and had a wonderful big brunch. Later that afternoon we were transferred back to Jumbo Junction and experienced our first big rain. Sitting on the open game drive vehicle we got soaking wet. Luckily the rain does not last long and soon we were dry again.

Day 12 (16 December 2015) Okavango Delta - Fallen Baobab

Wake up call was at 5h45 and at 6h30 we started our activity. First was a game drive to the mokoro station followed by 30minutes mokoro ride and then an 1 hour game walk and back to the mokoro and on the vehicle to camp. The water levels are very low and therefore we have to be transferred to the mokoro station and only do short mokoro rides. We saw beautiful birdlife on the water and on the walk we saw impala, wildebeest, reed buck, warthog and baboons.

Back at camp we had lunch and were waiting for our transfer to Fallen Baobab

Day 11 (15 December 2015) Okavango Delta: Jumbo Junction

The kids were having a morning swim and then we are off again to our next camps in the Delta. We took the Muhembo ferry and made our way to Seronga. About 22km from Seronga we got to our camp Jumbo Junction where we stayed the night. Just 5km we arrived at our camp we had our first flat tyre. Changing a tyre at a temperature of over 40degrees was not fun. We were again very lucky being the only clients at the camp. At 5pm we went on our game walk. The kids were joining as well. Navas and Junior were our guides - very knowledgable and fantastic with the kids! Back at camp we watched the most beautiful sunset and Stefan enjoyed the braai area!

Day 10 (14 December 2015) Shakawe - Drotsky's Cabins

Was fuer eine tolle Lodge.
